MUM Breastfeeding Accompanied
Dr. María Fernanda Mier Justo
International Breastfeeding Consultant (IBCLC)
I am Fer, I studied medicine at La Salle University and when I became a mother I realized that as doctors we are not taught anything about breastfeeding and the situations that can arise from this, so I became very interested in the world of breastfeeding and I prepared myself for years (study and practice) to become an IBCLC, the highest degree of studies that exists today as a specialist in breastfeeding.
Before, breastfeeding was given to us in a natural way since it was passed from generation to generation, but nowadays that stopped happening due to the rise of infant formulas, so Mum believes in being with moms who need support and advice in this stage of many doubts, fears and insecurities.
It has been proven that the best way to feed our children at birth is with breast milk (BF), no infant formula, no matter how advanced it is, will be able to match BF, since it changes according to the baby's needs. Achieving exclusive breastfeeding is possible with the right help, so I invite you to seek advice from the right person.
It is important to consult a health professional during this stage if:
- She wants to be informed prior to delivery.
- Does not achieve adequate grip.
- The baby feels uncomfortable at the breast.
- If you have pain during lactation
- You will have twins.
- The baby fails to gain weight.
- If you have cracks or sores on your nipples
- In addition, it is important to consult with a health professional before taking any medication or supplement during breastfeeding, as some may be harmful to the baby.
